4th July 2025: BLOOD TESTING SERVICES – SERVICE DISRUPTION
GP practices in Rushcliffe use Nottinghamshire University Hospitals (NUH) pathology services to complete our blood tests. Once we have taken bloods in the surgery, they are sent to NUH who analyse the blood for us and send us the results.
NUH introduced a new pathology system at the start of this week. This was required, but unfortunately the change has led to severe disruption and hugely increase workload for GP practices. Managing this work safely is having an impact on the capacity that we can provide for patient care and is affecting GP practices county-wide. We are all working hard to get NUH to resolve these issues urgently. Please bear with us if results and services are slower than usual.
